Stitching story into everyday carry
What began as a day in my craft room creating what I had envisioned in my mind, grew into a craft studio turning cherished textiles into story-rich denim carryalls and then some.
From worn jeans to woven memories
It all started with a favorite pair of faded indigo jeans and fun fabrics to adding a graphic t-shirt full of sentimental memories. Unwilling to part with the cloth, I unpicked seams and stitched them back together into a structured daily tote.
The t-shirt idea came to me when I lost my son-in-law. He had given me a shirt and when that shirt no longer fit me, I knew I wanted to keep it, so I turned it into a tote bag. I will always have the shirt and memory now.
